The Printed Blog, a startup by for­mer busi­ness pro­duc­tiv­ity soft­ware entre­pre­neur Joshua Karp, is launch­ing a twice-​​daily free print news­pa­per in cities across the coun­try aggre­gat­ing local­ized blog posts. The busi­ness model is to attract adver­tis­ing rev­enue from local advertisers.

Inter­est­ing idea: that a print pub­li­ca­tion could tap into hyper­local con­tent and attract adver­tis­ers who would oth­er­wise not be inter­ested in some­thing if it was dis­trib­uted glob­ally, ie, on the web.
